What is biodegradable, bio-based, and compostable
Biodegration is the ability of a material to lose its mass over time due to the action of fungi and other microorganisms, which use it as a source of energy.
Bio-based refers to the part or all of a material or product that comes from biomass.
A compostable material has the ability to biodegrade under controlled composting conditions, in the presence of oxygen and at high temperatures, transforming into natural fertilizer. Products can be certified for home or industrial composting, depending on the technical conditions in which they can be composted.
Our BioE formulations BioE
We develop more than 30 formulations adapted to the needs of clients and the regulations of the countries where we operate. We offer different alternatives:
Race to Zero
We adhere to the global campaign supported by the UN, “Race to Zero,” which seeks for industries to take measures to cut carbon dioxide emissions in half by 2030.
The Four Conditions of
Biodegradation
Depending on the formulation used, our products biodegrade under up to to four conditions.
Certifications
Each of our finished products has different certifications. These certifications are carried out by scientific institutions in Latin America, Europe, and the United States, which, through a rigorous process, validate or certify characteristics such as: the bio-based material content, its ability to biodegrade, to be composted, and/or its non-biotoxicity, in accordance with national and international standards.
